Canon FS200 is very convenient to use because of its compact size and light weight. Measuring only 2.2 inches wide, 2.3 inches high and 4.8 inches deep, it combines big video storage capacity in a small, easy to carry camcorder weighing just only 7.9 ounces for each.
I purchased this Canon FS200 a couple of weeks, and it is small. Smaller than I expected, but this is not bad, it is easy to carry in your pocket or even jacket pocket. I do not download or use any software that came with the camera, I have Sony Vegas on my computer. One thing I recommend is download the free SDCOPY software that you can find online. Check the wide screen box and it is yours. MOD files can convert mpg files instantly. You should now be able to work with them in almost all editing software. Use a card reader for the SD card, instead of connecting the camera to the computer makes life easier. I still use a cheap one, that came with my SD card.
The zoom function is good, and a steady hand or tripod is highly recommended for longer recording. Quick Start up. The automatic lens cover is great, the battery life is long enough.
I can’t see any problem with this little camcorder, other than low-light shots that could be better, but not many of these digital camcorders are great in low light conditions anyway.
